Dealing with Justin's issues are deeper than Rochelle ever imagined. Suddenly she's thrust back into the life of the man she never wanted to see again or did she?
This is the second book in the Latter Rain series by the author. Once again the author tackles issues not often dealt with in fiction. Single parents often take on more burdens than they should in an effort to make sure their child has everything that they need. I've enjoyed each book so far, and each book could be read alone. There are many more things I'd like to say but you'll have to grab a copy instead. I'm definitely looking forward to reading book three of the trilogy.

Adrienne keeps knocking it out of the park with this series. I loved Rochelle and Mateo's story. No pain, no gain is true in many facets of life. Can't wait to read Rosa's story.
Wow! There was nothing to dislike at all about the book. The story was well put together. It had to be hard for Rochelle to leave Vance a second time. You can't make yourself fall in love. It has to happen but I guess you never know unless you give it a try like Rochelle -)
Like always, Adrienne Thompson is a charming storyteller. Her characters are always relatable. I was dead set against Teo until he sobbed in her hair. And my family is a pack of Judases is my favorite line. Hilarious! Very good read.
Adrienne has done it again!!!! Awesome love story! Rochelle discovered that she was pregnant. After discussing this with her boyfriend he left her in the hotel room. Rochelle decides to move back home to Arkansas. After fifteen years of raising her son alone, her son wants to meet his dad. Rochelle is engaged to be married to someone she is not in love with. Excellent love story….
It's some strong type of love that will make you go on a fifteen year sabbatical once it's lost. Could be love, pain or, who knows?
However, if you running from it, the wrong thing to do is stay at Hyacinth Manor, particularly Room 10, and not expect love to find you. Earth, Wind and Fire said it best You can't hide love. You can run from it, but you won't win.

Rochelle was looking for husband for herself and a father for her son. T the father of her son had not been in her life for 15 yrs. Rochelle was bitter about him leaving her barefoot and pregnant all those yrs ago. She wanted nothing to do with him. Rochelle get engage to Vance and she plans to fall in love with him eventually. Rochelle son Justin wants to meet his father so T is back in the picture. He is still in love with Rochelle. Is it enough to take her from Vance? One click and find out. Great story!!

The second book, No Pain, No Gain, in the Latter Rain Series proved to be worth the wait. The story of Rochelle Warrior was totally solid. I loved all the characters in this story because they were believable.
There is, however, something almost magical about the Hyacinth Manor, its owner Ms. Rosa, and the legendary Room Ten. I highly recommend this series, although this book can be read as a stand alone. As usual, the author scored big points with the sound track that accompanies this story of love lost and love regained. I was a bit surprised that Betty Wright's 'No Pain, No Gain, was not included in the eclectic play list. I can't wait for the next story; I know it's going to be just as gratifying as this one. Great story for all of the Contemporary Romance readers out there. I recommend it!
